Combined Safety Services

As the pre-requisite for Issue Work Permits (MSMPER300), The MSMWHS201 unit of competency covers the skills and knowledge required to conduct a hazard analysis. This analysis is typically referred to as:

  • Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
  • Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
  • Job Safety and Environmental Analysis (JSEA)
  • Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS)

It involves identifying hazards and appropriate hazard controls. The purpose of conducting a hazard analysis may be driven by safety cases, organizational procedures, or simply as a good practice. Individuals working alone or as part of a team, in liaison with other shift team members and control room operators, can apply this competency.

Participants will be assessed via a written assessment. Participants with literacy or numeracy skills should speak with our Trainer to discuss alternative assessment approaches.

Qualification

Upon successful completion, each student will be issued with a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment.

Frequency of Training
